Fred Stonehouse lives and works in the city he was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His works investigate themes such as bats, devils, ghosts, and shamans. Fred’s painting exhibits a real honesty about his emotional state – whether it is his worldly perspective or internal struggles. The rawness of his appointed characters exude a beauty and heartbreaking sensitivity without letting go of his humbling nostalgic influences from outsider and folk art.
Fred has exhibited in various galleries and museums including a retrospective at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison, Wisconsin and most recently, the Museum Of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, Wisconsin. Stonehouse has recently opened a solo show at the CG2 Gallery in Nashville, Tennessee, the Koplin Del Rio Gallery in Los Angeles, California and the Howard Scott Gallery in New York City, New York.
